Behind the Collection | Resort 22 'Scent of Summer'

Glimpses | A Return To The Runway for Resort 22

Creative Directors Edwina Forest and Adrian Norris are due to showcase their Resort 22 collection in Sydney’s Royal Botanic Garden on Tuesday 11th May, almost two years to the day of their last runway collection.

Take a step behind the backstage curtain and discover the inspiration behind ‘Scent of Summer’ as well as runway styles captured from illustrated sketches to runway ready and a look into intimate fittings prior to the show with our Aje muses and Creative Director, Edwina Forest.

As the world continues to move through a state of flux, Aje’s Resort 22 runway collection offers a dreamscape of summer; a voyage to another time and place, where hearts ran free and souls ran wild. Entitled ‘Scent of Summer’, the designers embraced a sense of nostalgia, looking to the carefree and hedonistic days of the 60s as a grounding essence to the collection.

The collection itself is a dynamic fusion of colour, hand-painted prints, tactile fabrications and high-octane volume.

Pelicano Ruffle Mini Dress

A deep V-shaped neckline in a mini dress, the dual layered tiers of exuberant ruffle evoke the ultimate summer feeling.

Vanades Cut Out Dress

The signature waist cut-out is accentuated by the voluminous puff linen blend sleeves as side seam pockets echo the curved nature of the neckline.

Martino Cut Out Jacket Dress

Unique tailoring is reimagined in this single breasted blazer dress. Feminine proportions and cut-outs are inspired by our iconic Mimosa style.

Oasis Braided Shirt and Pant

A flared trouser reminiscent of the 1960s paired with co-ord shirt featuring an intricate braiding technique developed in-house to showcase the integral craftsmanship for which Aje is known.
